HAPPY 1st Birthday Boys!
Grandma Larsen made a quick visit and brought some treats!

Ben and Dane are all smiles before the cupcakes get to them.....
"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Fats - Happy Birthday to you!"
"Hmmm.....I am totally not sure what to make of this."
"Curious...."
"Let's check it out..."
"It feels funny in my hands."
"The verdict is - NO! Absolutely not my thing."
"Cupcakes are gah-ross!"

Happy Birthday Boys!
We had the Larsens over to celebrate Brett's and the Twins' Birthdays.
Mom, you would be proud that I used that pumpkin bundt pan.
Brett was adamant that we needed a cinnamon bundt cake as opposed to a traditional birthday cake. So, the boys got a cupcake each.
Dane really wasn't all that impressed with cake.
That's about all they did. Nothing major. I cannot believe it has been a year. I also cannot believe that Brett and I are still alive. It has been a rough one and I am sure that there are plenty more challenges ahead. We are so grateful for the kids to be healthy and growing. It depends on what day you ask if I can add "happy" to that list.
Anyway, here's to the milestone!

Happy Birthday Brett!
This is Cody's Pouty Face
He wouldn't make much of a model.....I took a picture one morning to show him so he knew what I was dealing with when he wanted to throw a fit. That way he can laugh at himself the next time he gets like this.
Maybe he is just tired of everyone wrecking up his stuff.....

Finally Pictures of Something
Finally A Few Pics
It has been way too long, I know. Here are just a few pictures from the last few months:
This is a hawk that took down a pigeon in our front yard. Finding the pigeon too heavy, it sat there and ate it in our side yard while about 10 kids looked on. Kai commented that you could see the blood and everything. 15 minutes later it picked up the carcass and flew away. It was pretty amazing. The kids loved it.
This is a HAPPY DANE. Hasn't been this way for a while, but I love to catch him when he smiles.
Benjamin loves to smile for the camera. He is a mini Cody if I have ever seen one.

Putting their heads together.

CODY's FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
I had a hard time getting a picture of Cody. He was so ready to go to school and wanted nothing to do with me taking pictures. I was glad to see him pick the KG jersey for the first day!
Miss Kai Cassidy's First Day of School
FLUTTERBUGS
Kai's new school is called Flutterbugs. She loves it! Wishes she could go everyday!

Trip to SLC for the 4th
Okay, these pictures aren't exciting. Let's face it, my hands are just too full. I'd love anyone else's photos if you have them.
We had a great moon to guide us on our drive. I tried to get a good picture but honestly it pales in comparison to the live viewing.
This is one handsome and happy man....wouldn't you say? Brett was solid, driving the whole trip in both directions. You're the best.
The babies actually traveled quite well. Don't know if I can say the same for these two Yay-hoos.
And the funniest moment of the trip....Ben reaching into his carpet bag to pull out a lamp or some piece of furniture. Laura thought he looked a little like Mary Poppins here and I had to get a shot.
We had a great time in Utah for the 4th. Brett, Cody and Scott got to play a single round of golf that lasted a marathon 5 1/2 hours. Scott endo-ed on dad's bike....yes the same one that broke dad's neck. Brutal. We hung out with Eric and Jill at their place and watched the fireworks. That was a definite highlight for us. What a great night. AND....we got to see some of my other Smith cousins - Tracy, Brad, Jenna, Davis. It was a lot of fun. We love spending time with you all and miss seeing you more. Most especially we loved hanging out with Dad, Mom, Scott and Laura. Thanks for rearranging your lives for us. We love you much.
