Cody's Ultimate Football Experience

For those of you who don't know, Cody is playing Ultimate Football this spring instead of soccer. His team, the Buccaneers played a double header on Saturday. Everyone gets to QB. This is a picture of Cody at QB. Pretty fun stuff. Its just like Ultimate Frisbee, but with a football. Not too many deep routes are effective at this level, YET, that is by far the most popular play, no matter what the coaches say.

Lucky for us, our neighborhood does all of these great activities so I don't have to plan them. Just show up. We had probably 50 or so kids and lots of easter eggs. It was great. On Easter Sunday we got to visit with Pam and Randy for a nice Easter Dinner.

Twins Eating For the First Time

Ben gets a "little" excited about eating.  Is that a Downey or a Larsen trait?  Hard to tell.  We knew he was ready for food one night when we were eating dinner.  As he was sitting on my lap he had his eyes fixated on my twice baked potato.  Just for kicks I brought it toward his mouth. Mind you, this potato was pretty big.  With no hesitation he opened his mouth as wide as he could with the full expectation of eating the potato.  He was a little upset with me when the potato had not made its way into his mouth.  Anyway, I hope eating food will make him a little happier.  So far he is frustrated with his lack of ability to run at 5 months and he lets us know it regularly.

Dane doesn't get quite as excited, but he likes to eat too.  We think he is back to 1lb more than Ben.  Dane likes to snuggle and takes his time to observe things around him.  He usually only gets mad if he is really hungry or tired.  We love them both....what a pair!

Visit to San Diego

Spring Break in San Diego

Yippee!

Okay, so it wasn't everything we thought it would be, but it was fun. The kids loved playing with Aunt Laura, Uncle Scott and especially Jed. Cody got an earache and suffered through the descent into San Diego and then went to the ER on that first night, but after that he really had a great time. The twins were not their normal selves but by the last day, they seemed pretty happy. Thanks for Grandma for flying out with us. That was a huge help. Wish we had more pics, just seemed tough to take pictures when you are holding a baby.

The Water was Cold, but the Sand was Warm. Cody was always running to get warm!

Thanks to Aunt Laura - an extra set of hands was a bonus.
